Bicycle Birthday

I saw THIS on Pinterest and fell in love with it.  So I knew I had to recreate it for a birthday card.

What do you think?  Kind of sweet.

I used stamps for the bike and hearts, some of the inks are second generation.  And I used a black ink pen to draw the strings.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Card Set Part I {Lucy}

I am working on another card set with magazine holder.  Here are two of the cards so far.

The first has one of my favorite elements...Sparkle!  I decided to stamp Happy Birthday to you on the inside and leave the outside for just a cupcake.

I mean seriously...just look at the sparkle!!  ;)

Next is a card that has a minimal feel to it.  I wanted this set to be a range of birthday cards.  I'm going to be making some masculine cards as well.  Even though this paper pack is considered 'girly', as with most packs, it can be used in a variety of ways.

Stay tuned to see the others in this set.  When I post the rest I'll list the supply details.

Thanks for stopping by!

Magazine Holder {Clementine Card Set}

I found another 3D shape I love on the Artiste cartridge!  Big surprise there!!  It's a little magazine holder.  Now of course it's too small to hold magazines, but at six inches it's perfect to hold a card set.  I choose to feature the Clementine papers.

Here it is with the cards.  I am still deciding if I want to add some embellishment to the outside...

I have made three cards so far to go in it.  I am thinking of adding one or two more.

And here it is empty.  Just so cute!

(I'm still playing around with my light box and camera settings as you can see.  I stumbled across something involving the white balance, so bear with me as I try to figure this whole thing out.)

You may have noticed that my Stash Buster Sunday is on hiatus.  I decided that I really need to focus on creating with my new products to get ready for my first Home Gathering.  I'm sure I'll be back to busting up my stash of supplies before too long.  ;)

Until next time,
Meredith

New and Old {First FB Drawing}

I did a little drawing on my Facebook page for people who "liked" my page.  The winner chose a card set as her prize and here are of a few of the cards she'll be receiving.

The first card is using the beautiful Lucy papers.  And if you like these papers you need to grab them before August 1st!  For this card I stamped on the brand new canvas shapes with our new pigment ink.  It works beautifully!

The second card is my favorite.  I am loving the new Flirty papers--and silly me--I didn't even order this set!!  I will have to amend that!

And this final one is made using almost all retired product.  {{Sorry}}  I just went for the masculine stamp and that's how it came together.  The inside is stamped with a Happy Birthday sentiment.

I hope the contest recipient enjoys them.  I made the embellishments/layering pretty flat:  A. I'm shipping them to an Air Force base in Germany, and B. If she wants to mail them she probably will need them to be flat also.

Thanks for stopping by!

Convention Cards {part two}

Here are two more of the six cards we were able to put together from our convention packets.  Again I have to say I love the fresh color palette.  It's really inspired me to think out of the box when I start putting my own stuff together.

This card is a two piece.  The woodgrain card fits into the little sleeve.  So adorable!

This next one I have to admit I'm a little on the fence about.  It's just not my favorite, but I thought I'd post it anyway.  It's growing on me (wink).

Hope you enjoyed these.  And hopefully I'll have the final two for you tomorrow.

Lightbox!

I have wanted for some time now to make a light box to take pictures of my cards in.  I pinned several tutorials from the web.  I mushed together the easiest box possible and over the last few weeks (yes it took that many weekly trips to the grocery store to remember all the supplies) I managed to gather all the ingredients....here's the box.

It wasn't too hard to make, but I really don't want to make another any time soon.  Haha.

This is how the first pictures were turning out....

I was hugely disappointed.  I tried several different ways to take the picture and nothing was working.  Until I added muslin over the top hole.  It diffused the light and made it so much better.

I got so excited that it was working that I pulled out some other old cards to try them....

Well now all I need is some cards to take pictures of!!

PS These cards were all made a couple of years ago with various product lines.

Happy Birthday Tea Party {Pemberly Papers}

One of my sweet nieces is turning two in just a few short weeks and when I found out a tea party may be in the works, I knew what my card would be.  Well, at least I knew what stamp set to use!

Even though she is a sweet and dainty little girl I couldn't use pink for her card because her favorite color is blue.  I choose shades of a soft dusty blue.

The 'ribbon' at the bottom is made from a folded piece of paper.  I added ink to the edges to give it dimension.

And of course I had to add a little sparkle to finish it off.

Until next time,
Meredith

3 Birthday Cards

My dad's good friend is unfortunately going through pretty intense cancer treatments.  To cheer him up, his daughter is organizing a card drive of sorts.  She's collected over 90 so far and plans to surprise him on his birthday this week.

My parents, my brother and his wife, and my husband and I are all sending cards.  I put these three together last night.

They are all simple and all made with retired products.  In fact the third is made with paper I got in my Consultant's Kit the last time I was a Consultant!  The first card is made with some old Christmas papers.  It just proves that CTMH papers are versatile AND timeless!!  :)

Until next time,
Meredith

Beachy Happy Birthday

My mom called and asked for a special birthday card, and we discussed themes.  We landed on 'beach'.  At first I was toying with the idea of using a seashell stamp, but at the last minute decided on this...

What do you think?  Does it look like waves rolling into the beach?  My husband didn't get that from it...oh well.  The 'sand' is made by using a Sanding Block on textured paper, then using a distressing tool to pounce on some Desert Sand and Chocolate ink.  (The white-core textured CS from CTMH is retired, but you could get the same effect by pouncing on some White Daisy ink first.)  Always remember to ink on lightest to darkest.

The waves were made by simply tearing the white-core CS across at an angle.  So easy!

Thanks for stopping by!

Bright Happy Birthday! {Stella papers}

Oooh the laptop is running slow this morning...time for a restart.  But first I'm going to try to get this card loaded.

I snapped a picture of it in the bright morning sunshine--so thankful that spring is making its presence known!

This card was super quick to make.  Thanks to the canvas stickers.

Hope you all are having a bright and sunny day!
